After traveling and researching climbing and trekking destinations extensively throughout remote regions in Central Asia, Remote Corner was founded as a means of helping people explore those truly undiscovered areas. It’s not about doing the biggest, or the most coveted – it’s about doing the most exciting.
Remote Corner’s founder, Alex, has long been an adventure enthusiast. He has trekked and climbed all over the world including Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan and, of course, all the regions offered by Remote Corner. His love for off-piste skiing was developed whilst living in Austria in 2008, and he’s not looked back since. He is an enthusiastic climber – both rock and alpine, and has climbed numerous routes throughout the European Alps and Central Asia, but he is not a guide and relies on suitably qualified and experienced local professionals to lead the trips.
Client and staff safety is paramount in all of the trips we run and dedicated UK expedition medics are included within each of Remote Corner Adventure’s climbing trips. Our medics – and of course guides – play a central role in our extensive pre-expedition planning process during which we put in place appropriate strategies and protocols including (but not limited to); incident and emergency response plans, communication strategies and contingency plans. We also carry out participant screening and risk assessments, all to help ensure successful and safe expeditions from the outset.
Remote Corner Adventures is a limited company registered in the UK (registration number 11060389). We meet the requirements set out by the EU Package Travel Regulations and endeavor to accord with BS8848 in all of our trips.
We’d love to hear from you with any comments, queries or ideas.
